Lena and Braden Forrey brought their wonderfully fun group of friends and family all the way from Seattle, Washington to Maderas beach, Nicaragua for their intimate destination wedding at the Buena Vista Surf Club. The surf club overlooks world famous Maderas beach with it’s immaculately varnished outstretched deck and stunning views. A perfect size for destination wedding of thirteen of their closest friends and family, the Forrey’s did it right and did their ceremony on the quaint deck and then we headed down to the beach for a photo session at last light.
The deck at the Buena Vista Surf Club is set amidst the jungle, complete with howler monkeys and Papagallos, and overlooks the stunning pacific ocean. The crew at Buena Vista prepared an incredible local meal for the bride and groom and their intimate wedding party.
Our fabulous groom, Braden, stands at a towering six foot seven, so we worked with him to get a nice portrait where the viewer could see his wonderful smile at eye level. I think we did a pretty good job.
Our gorgeous bride, Lena, was naturally comfortable in front of the camera, so we played around a bit with photos as if we were in a studio, even though we were on the beach. Her glow is in part because of her 15 week pregnancy in which I worked with afterward to hide her “not quite” baby bump and we got these beautiful, classic portraits.
